In UK, a man who sufferred panic attacks when driving past speed cameras has managed to overcome it by talking to the police and speed camera operators.

Colin Grant, 41, developed a phobia on fixed and mobile cameras 4 years ago even though he has never had a speeding ticket in his life. Because of this, he always planned his routes carefully to avoid the cameras and sometimes took detours up to 2 miles to ensure he did not drive past any speed cameras.

If he was forced to past a speed camera, his would suffer heart palpitations and sweaty palms as he wondered if he had been caught speeding in his car. When the panic attacks became severe, he had to pull over and wait for the anxiety to subside before driving off again.

By talking to police and speed camera operators, Mr Gant finally tackled his fear. Inspector Rowe explained how the cameras worked during a 2 hour meeting and introduced him to staff operating them.
